Matthew 25:35

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

Please remember the Food Pantry in these tough economic times!

We would like to ask you to keep the Pantry in mind in two ways:

1.  When you are grocery shopping:  When grocery items are on sale, (for instance buy one, get one free or 10 for $10) could you please pick up some for the Pantry as well as for yourself?  There is a barrel in the foyer outside the Sanctuary for non-perishables and perishable items can go into the fridge in the church kitchen.  A list of needed items is posted below, and sometimes in the bulletin.

2.  When you come to worship: If you have trouble remembering to buy things for the Pantry, or don't want to carry extra bags around, you can make a monetary donation.  There are brightly colored envelopes in the pews that are just for Pantry donations.  The Deacons' grocery expenses for the Pantry are almost 50% more than they were just last year!

THANK YOU!

Food for the hungry ...

The Food Pantry at Frenchtown Presbyterian exists to provide help for those who are having a little trouble making ends meet.  Non-perishable foods such as canned soups, vegetables, and fruits; household goods such as laundry detergent and toilet tissue; as well as fresh butter, eggs and cheese are stocked.  The pantry receives donations from the Sunday School, other local churches, schools, scout groups, and other local organizations.

The Food Pantry is located in the rear of the Parish House.  The entrance is off the parking lot.  It is open every Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Starting on March 2nd, the Pantry will also open at 6:00 PM on the first and third Mondays of the month.  This is a temporary measure due to increased demand.

Betty Westlake is the volunteer Food Pantry Manager.

            ITEMS NEEDED include:

canned fruit
Chunky-style soups
Dinty Moore Beef Stew
Coffee (one pound cans)
salad dressing
laundry detergent
shampoo
paper products - tissues, toilet tissue, paper towels

items that can be put in the church kitchen refrigerator:
yogurt
butter
hot dogs
Taylor Pork Roll
eggs
individually wrapped slices of cheese

Your financial donation is always welcome - there are brightly colored envelopes in the pews for your Pantry donation!

Non-perishable donations to the Pantry can be dropped off in the barrel in the breezeway or in the Rotunda at any time. Perishable items should be left in the fridge in the church kitchen. There is a Pantry magnet on the side of the fridge - move it to the front when you leave food for the Pantry!  Contact  Betty Monroe with any questions.  Special thanks to Margaret Pfisterer for her yoghurt donations.  Ask Margaret how easy it is to leave perishables for the Pantry in the church kitchen!
